A recovery coach is your support with your recovery journey. Recovery is all about you being able to live a purposeful and meaningful life. A recovery coach is an NDIS funded worker that has mental health knowledge.
Your SCL recovery coach will provide assistance for participants to build capacity and resilience through strong and respectful relationships to support people with psychosocial disability to live a full and contributing life. This support is designed to be able to maintain engagement through periods of increased support needs due to the episodic nature of mental illness. SCL Recovery coaches work collaboratively with participants, families, carers and other services to identify, plan, design and coordinate NDIS supports.
Your SCL recovery coaches will provide support to people with psychosocial disability to live a full and contributing life. NDIS participants will be assisted to take more control of their lives and to better manage complex challenges of day to day living.
Recovery coaches are different from support co-ordinators in that they bring specialist knowledge and skills in psychosocial recovery, mental health and service navigation within the mental health system. Roles and responsibilities of recovery coaches include:
